The nearly 3,500 corporate, personal and organisational archives included in the Elka collection contain information on various topics. We have archives from several industries, locations and time periods. The material can be utilised in research on economic, local and personal history but you can also simply drop in to see what type of photographs are available from your home municipality, for instance.

Using the archive’s databases you can search for information on the topic of your choice. They do not, however, tell the whole story as: the photograph register, for instance, contains only approximately 10% of all photographs stored in Elka. Approximately 60% of all Elka archives have been organised and catalogued in a database. For the remaining material, there are inventory catalogues of various levels of quality.

If you are not able to find something in our databases, contact Elka’s on-duty employee.
